I do not get it. You say - "Google has apparently ordered around 20m units of the new, unnamed Chromebook" and then go on to say - "it(’s suggested) may be a more tentative move so as to gauge interest in the platform". 20mn to just gauge the interest and tentative move? - I fail to understand.. How many more in the first batch would be definitive rather than tentative..

Yep, it's probably going to be a prototype similar to Cr-48, rather than a "Nexus" chromepad. Good news though.

I guess that Chrome Apps developers needs a touch-device in order to create touch-based apps within the Chrome Packaged Apps platform. After one year, when Samsung, Acer or Asus will come out with their Chromepad Transformer, some applications will be ready on the Chrome Web Store, hopefully.

I am a software developer so I always have problems with
Windows, I wanted to go to Chrome OS, but the OS is very basic

I will definitely buy a cheap Chrome OS Notebook tablet hybrid,
otherwise I will stay with Windows 8

I am so interested in one of these (the Samsung one). Getting real sick of the Microsoft computers I have had. Nothing but problems. I spend more time yelling at my computer than working on it. Have never had any problem with any Android device. A couple of glitches at times but nothing like the headache I get from Microsoft. Eg. Forgot old email account and password, so I cannot sign into my old xbox to get data out of it. Microsoft can only help with passwords, even though I have my xbox profile, they just won't help, so basically I have lost all my saved game data and the gun packs for battlefield 3. I hate you Microsoft and I hope you die the same time as apple. In google, I trust.
