Hmmmm...i see this as just another opportunity to take a peek or steal Android future tech and improve on it as has been the case in some instances before. Why is it that there is just ONE COMPANY always at the center of all these patent disputes. Looks like a consistent effort being made to use the courts to prevent, disrupt other companies from bringing their product to market or selling their products and competing in the market place. What happened to competing fairly in the market place...LET THE BEST PRODUCT APPEAL to the consumers

Motorola, Samsung, LG, Acer, Asus, HTC, Google and others HAVE to get all iOS and future product plans, to make sure that Apple is not infringing upon their ideas. If This above happens, then these companies can do the same thing to Apple then.

I know that I'm preaching to the choir, but I find it ludicrous that companies are patenting ideas as opposed to actual code with regards to "intellectual property" and/or software. I could understand if any company was just copying and pasting code into their software, that's a blatant infringement (unless there really is only one way to 'print "foo"' in that language), but to try and say "You can't have or implement this idea because I thought of it first." not only seems ridiculous, but childish as well.

Apple is basically being handed the underlying code for all Android development related to Motorola devices on a silver platter. They will undoubtedly find place-holders for features currently in development that it could imitate in order to play the "we implemented it first" card and/or to compete in the near future with iPhone and iPad devices and/or prepare lawsuits for in advance. The worst part? Google wouldn't be able to file anti-trust/patent infringement/copyright violations because some judge (who was probably paid well by Apple) provided a court order requiring it, therefore rendering any appeal by Motorola and/or Google absolutely useless.

On all sides, this patent abuse has got to stop. All it does is hurt the consumer and provide more excuses for governments to get involved and push harmful regulations (not all regulations are harmful, but the vast majority that are coming out of the woodwork are).

Just my opinion.
