Quite frankly I am glad that there is no flash. Flash destroys my Droid Incredible when browsing the web.
I did try several other tablets before purchasing my iPad. The iPad was (still is) leaps and bounds ahead of the others. No, not because of the hardware specs, but because of the polished software and UI.

Yes..I have a Droid and an iPad. I'm no "fanboy" to Apple or Android.

Steve Jobs syndrome.... yeah i would call it the Apple Marketing Syndrome...Launching the IPhone missing half the operating system is a feat in itself. But the reality is as such : Nokia has been weak in the US for decades, no real smartphone were available in the US at the launch of the Iphone, most of the iphone killing features were hardware based and developed by other companies. Still the sales of IPAD make no sense at all and are driven by a blind following of products that have become a social need. Any heavy user would throw the IPad out of the window after 2 days of usage (that's what happened to me).No flash No usb no bluetooth no bypassing ITunes......

If credit has to be given, the Apple Marketing Team should be the one receiving it.

A good salesman sells a good product, a great salesman sells Apple products.

You are spot on with the Steve Jobs Syndrome...
Who else could launch and sell a smartphone WITHOUT copy/paste in 2007 but Apple/Steve Jobs and get away with it without anyone asking why it was missing. On a piece of hardware which is totally dependent of text -input and manipulation. My old PalmV had this option from the start, and I would not have bought it if it could not copy/paste. And as an example of how well Steve is at selling old wine on new bottles, I only have to mention FaceTime... it's the new and fantastic way of videocalingl on a phone... or is it? My old Nokia N95 have had it from the beginning...
But Steve and Co. gets away with it every time and that's the true genius of Apple.

I will just give some examples of the genius of appel:

The first iMac - no floppydrive - well who needs this???
The first iPhone - no copy/paste and no 3G - well well who needs THAT???
The first iPad - no file access - no USB port - no camera - well... well... well...

It would be like selling cars without dashboards... well the car can drive - can't it, and the dashboard comes on the next update... (then we can sell twice the number of cars as well)

Nokia on the contarary have the reverse problem... they try to cram as much as possible into one single product that i never gets finished, and when it finnaly launches, it is flawed by an outdated UI that no one likes, and no one at Nokia have thought about to upgrade... but the hardware is the best around with so many gizmoes that You never get to use all of them...

Wow, more fanboyism? My browser has worked from the second I turned my tablet on, and it even includes flash (something apple has yet to, and most likely never will, embrace). I didn't 'almost brick' my device when I flashed 3 different rom's onto it to get something that isn't as boring and bland and just like everyone else out there. Hey, if you want to buy a Ford Fusion but at the price of a Ferrari, then be my guest. Me, I'd rather buy a completely custom car for the price of a Corolla. (fanboy probably won't get that analogy, but hey, they aren't known for being smart)

Yes, your Ipad 2 may have a slightly better processor than all the Tegra 2 tablets out there. That certainly doesn't bother me, I still have a very functional and usable tablet that fits my needs. And I didn't have to pay an extra $200 to get an Apple logo on the back of it. The Asus logo fits just fine.

lol... there's always one..

what amazes me is the number of hemdroids out there who have no problem rooting (or many problems, but dare not mention how they almost bricked their device and spent hours researching the fix...) but always seem to miss the concept of jailbreaking... ifile rocks...

This article isn't directed at the owners of lame, gimpy tablets.. just their mfr's... so chill.. you've got a great movie player (sans Netflix ) and a fair web browser... and you didn't even have to buy an apple product.. we give you credit for being willing to buy a less capable product for the same or more money for the sake of maybe something better down the road..

The iPad is missing critical features, but you're right, Jobs still manages to convince fanbois that leaving out features is a feature.

The iPad's data management and transfer regime is nothing short of appalling. If you've ever tried to do something as simple as copy a folder to a third party app through the music player he's demanded you use as a file manager, you'll know the whole system is completed half-arsed. Yet it gets next to no media criticism, instead praise for the way it's simple (!!) and looks.

When you see idiot fanbois advocating emailing files to yourself as a superior form of file management, you know he's dishing out the Kool Aid pretty damn effectively.
