Gold Galaxy S5 heads to USA and UK

The Samsung Galaxy S5's next shiniest shade has been revealed for release in both the United States and the UK. The Gold – or Copper Gold, if you prefer – edition of the Galaxy S5 is headed to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless (through select indirect retailers), and U.S. Cellular in the United States as well as Three in the UK.

This sold edition is – believe it or not – far more gold than preview photos suggest. While we've seen some suggestions on the web over the past few weeks that this Gold version of the Galaxy S5 is closer to "brown," we can assure you: it's far closer to Goldmember than it is to rust.

Outside its fabulously shiny golden backside and hints of gold amongst black along the front, this Galaxy S5 is the same as its predecessors in Blue and Black. Have a peek at our hands-on look at the Galaxy S5 from earlier this year at Mobile World Congress 2014, then see our Samsung Galaxy S5 Review as well.

The Galaxy S5 has also been tipped to be getting a next-generation cousin sooner than later with the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. Besides the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which we'll see (more than likely) at IFA 2014.
