pairNIC. They’re more expensive, but I only had a few domains and was happy to pay the extra to support a company that supports open source projects and renewable energy.

Who did you transfer them to? I’m starting to hate godaddy but they are fairly cheap and easy to use. With nearly 300 names, transferring them will take some work….and didn’t want to do it twice.

I don’t like GoDaddy and moved my domains away last summer. In this case, I support what they’re doing with regard to limiting whois queries. Spammers are known to harvest email addresses from whois records, and so many (most?) registrars limit how many queries a single client can make in a short period of time, to prevent abuse.

As soon as I get time (probably later today or tomorrow) I’m switching mine over too. They may have publicly retracted their support but who knows how deep that change really goes within that company, and it boggles my mind how they’d think was was a good idea to begin with.
