Boy, the guys over at Sony know how to throw a launch party. Just throw in a half-naked chick and a decapitated goat and they’re ready to launch God Of War II.
Seriously, for a company that wants to be taken seriously as a family entertainment company, you’d think they would have come up with something different for their launch. Ok, I’m not going to get all upset about the topless chick (I’m a guy, sorry) it’s the decapitated goat that really makes me wonder who gave this the go-ahead. Even better, they stuffed the goat with fake guts that people were invited to pull out and eat.
What I wouldn’t give to have been in the meeting where they brought this idea up. Oh and I can’t wait until PETA hears about this one. Seriously folks, the God Of War games rock, the games are really going to sell themselves at this point. You don’t have to go through stunts like this to sell a few extra copies. I’ve heard the old saying that no press is bad press, but I don’t think it applies here. There are very likely going to be parents out there that may have bought the game for their kid until they heard this. Parents everywhere will call it “that game with the naked girls and dead animals.”
Thankfully, Sony is investigating how this could have happened, turns out the big-wigs didn’t approve of the stunt, saying it was of “unsuitable nature.” Really guys, the gaming industry gets enough bad publicity from people like Jack Thompson, we really don’t need to give those people any more to work with.

You’re not a guy, you’re just a ***. So your logic is as follows: I have a dick, therefore I like women, therefore anything with women being sexualized is greatness! Objectification, what? Guess what friend, there’s lots more people who care about women being seen as people than there are animal rights activists. It’s women and men’s fault, we’re all ******* up, but get real. Let’s grab a burger at Carls Jr, made from an animal that’s raised in horrific conditions for the sole purpose of being slaughtered, but let’s get upset when we actually see some of the results! I am highly perplexed by the fact that in this day and age a guy can be called a *** purely because he acted like a stereotypical male. Apparently you have no idea what the word *** means, not only the actual meaning, but the slang as well. The slang refers to generally a *** man, a guy who is sexually aroused by other guys. Not a guy who thinks topless chicks are hot. Hmm…contradict yourself much?
Moving on to the rest of your argument, those women are getting paid to be topless. They aren’t being objectified, they are objectifying you. Making you poor mindless fools who give up their cash just to see a couple ta tas. Those women are laughing their asses off when they get their paycheck.
In case you haven’t noticed by now, I am in fact female and I couldn’t care less that they were topless serving fruit to a bunch of gamers. Them doing this did not make men view me any less as a person. The men that were at this thing generally are kind people. I know a lot of guys that would jump at the chance to go to those things. However, those are the same men that love it when I talk geeky to them. They are the same men that hold the door open for me and that would never ever treat me as anything less than a person. They are also the same guys that could spend two hours debating with me over which game console is better and they always listen to my side.
Yes there are jerks out there that treat women as if they were nothing. However, if you made topless girls against the law, do you really think those men would go away? Let the boys have their fun, because you know when they got home to their wife she’ll whip them back into shape. That or they can go home and dream of one day actually having a girl. Just kidding guys, I know you actually get laid, occasionally. Okay, at least some of you do. Not everything has to have some deeper meaning. Sometimes, you just shoot people in video games and don’t become some crazed maniac. Within the same respect you can occasionally go to some bizarre God of War party and be served by topless women and not go home and be a douche to all women.
