Gmail call recording rolling out widely

If you are a big fan of the relatively new integration with Gmail and Google Voice, a new feature that some will like and others will loathe appears to be rolling out widely. The new feature allows the user who places a call using Google Voice from within Gmail to record the call.

People that like to archive calls will really like it and those that fear their privacy being violated with calls recorded may not be a fan of the new feature. The ability to record calls has been a feature for a while, but you had to press "4" on the keypad to do the recording and most didn't know about the feature.

The roll out is integrating the record button into the GUI of the Gmail call features. The feature only works for recording inbound calls and there is a verbal warning that both users can hear when the call is recorded. That should make those that fear their privacy feel better.
