OK, noticed on the website, if I have the above and the 3.5G, which it does, then it's a G. Now I just have to find out if 3.5G is compatible with my AT&T service. It is an HSDPA system, which is what AT&T uses, but is 3.5G compatible with 3G? If so, it's time to downgrade my phone to just talk and text, and put the data on this machine.

Still only one color, but Amazon is selling the T1028 now. I haven't checked to see if mine qualifies as an X or a G, but its the 1.66 processor, 1366x768 screen and 6 cell battery. Got mine 2 days ago, and am happy so far.

Unfortunately we've not heard anything on US release dates for the touchscreen Gigabyte, nor any choice of color options. We'll definitely be announcing anything new we hear.

Hey Slashgear.

I've been avidly following news on the EEE PC T91, only to read yesterday that Asus shutdown the online retailers that were taking pre-sales for North America. It seems we won't be seeing this model or it's big brother, the T101, anytime soon. Needless to say, I'm horrendously disappointed.

The fact that the Gigabyte M1028 seems to be my last hope, though, doesn't disappoint me at all. Actually, it looks like a fantastic machine. Now that they're including the GN40 chipsets and the more power efficient 1.66ghz processor, it's actually exceeding my expectations. Well, aside from the colors, that is, which I hope they'll offer more of. I'm also a tad disappointed about their choice to have the 6-cell protrude backwards, rather then down - the extra height the battery gives my 1000ha makes a more convenient angle for typing.

Well anyway, both of your articles are a month old, and I was just wondering if you all had heard anything more on this model. Perhaps a definitive release date for the US, or news on color choices?

Thanks.
