Gigabyte’s M528 MID has been flitting around the pages of SlashGear for so long now, it was hard to believe we’d never seen an unboxing for the touchscreen handheld.  Thankfully the guys at UMPCFever have sorted that, showing the mobile internet device taken from box, to SIM and battery slotting in, to boot and then even flirting with its aigo counterpart.

The SIM is for the M528’s internal 3G modem, which was confirmed as standard back in August.  That gives the Gigabyte a fair range of connectivity options, including WiFi, Bluetooth, HSPA and USB.  The M528 has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, GPS and dual cameras (VGA up front, 3-megapixel with autofocus round the back).  Storage is courtesy of a 4GB SSD, while the processor is an 800Mhz Silverthorne/Poulsbo (Menlow).

While Expansys USA previous listed the Gigabyte M528 on their website for preorder, it’s now no longer available.  The MID is still listed at Expansys UK, where it’s priced at £539.99 including tax.
