Earlier reports indicated that Guitar Hero 3 would make its way onto the Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii this fall. We now have confirmation that the latter is true.

wiimoter

Since we know it’s going to be on the Wii it raises the question of how the Wiimote will be used. So naturally the best one to ask would be RedOctane’s co-founder and president, Kai Huang. He tells us that we can expect a guitar controller similar to the one we’re already used to playing. They’re working on different ways to incorporate the Wiimote into gameplay, but didn’t have any further information on the matter.

More good news from Kai Huang; we can expect to see online play and downloadable music. One kind of assumes that you would get these anyway, but it’s always good to hear it straight from the source. I just want to know what kind of online play we’re going to see. As cool as it will likely be playing with someone online, you can’t beat rocking out in person. Plus if you’re rocking hard with your friends it’s cool, but if someone walks in while you’re power-sliding across the floor by yourself, it’s just a bit embarrassing.
