I have my copy of FRAMES. I have to say it's a let down. Georgie did it to us again. Book VI (Return of the Jedi) omits many of the iconic shots but includes plenty of blurred pictures of boring shots.

These books do not tell a story, not even the Star Wars story. I don't think many non-fans would spend this kind of money thinking "Gee I always wanted to know what Star Wars was about", but there should be some kind of sense one could derive from it. A couple of my pictures even had smudges like the ink hadn't properly dried.

I can understand the motivation to show some stills that haven't been "focused" on in the thirty five years since it all began in a galaxy far, far away, but sh*t- maybe some of these shots aren't remembered for a reason.

In all, it is an impressive item to have and the box is just stunning. The books are also very awe-inspiring... until you open them up. Where are the story points? Why spend so many pages on that stupid song in Jabba's palace but not show much of Yoda's ending or Vader with Palpitine held defiantly above his head? Some of the shots are in focus and beautiful, others are literally a waste of ink.

I was seriously anticipating sitting down with my grandchildren in the future and sharing the magic of Star Wars with them in a special way before showing them the movies. Well, guess not.

This collection of shots is almost a joke on fans and collectors. Lucasfilm is literally saying "they'll buy anything."

All of the pictures aren't even in sequence (most are).

It's impossible that they spent much time picking these shots. I could do a better job in a weekend with a laser printer and a pause button.

In the end, I did not spend my money on the best material of the Star Wars films. I spent three grand on a cool box and a bunch of... frames.

Okay I'm a pretty casual fan of star wars, but come on Lucas how much longer can you milk these films its been 30 damn years, make a new saga or something (knights of the old republic maybe), at least let Vader and his ilk out of the spotlight (he's got a statue on a church you really can't get more popular than that).
