Gemini FirstMix makes digital DJing affordable

DJ controllers intended for use with a notebook and your MP3 library aren't rare, but they're generally not cheap either. Happily Gemini has spotted the obvious gap in the market, and outed the Gemini FirstMix, a USB DJ controller with a sub-$80 MRSP.

As with the more expensive models, you get a pair of touch-sensitive jog wheels, each with volume, 2-band EQ and effects, along with a cross-fader. It hooks up via USB and comes with a copy of MixVibes CROSS LE with support for M4A, AIFF, WAV, MP3, FLAC and OGG audio files.

Set to go on sale in May 2011, the Gemini FirstMix will arrive at $79.95. Probably not something that Tiesto will give up his kit for, but an affordable way for bedroom DJs to get started at least.
