Gefen have unveiled three new component video distributors, intended to make connecting multi-room A/V straightforward.  First, the 4×4 Component Audio over CAT5 Matrix enables a direct connection between any four component video sources and four displays while supporting digital and analog audio inputs and outputs.  Meanwhile, the two new distribution amplifiers from Gefen enable A/V systems using the component format to split and deliver two or four identical signals at up to 1080p resolution.

The 4×4 Matrix is intended to switch between multiple high-definition sources and multiple displays, with remote receivers purchased separately.  Meanwhile the distribution amps take a single component video signal, split it, and then couple it with audio input and output in analog RCA and digital TOSlink and S/PDIF formats.

All of the products use CAT5 networking cable to distribute both audio and video, and runs of up to 300m are supported.  Gefen have also built in anti-skew technology to ensure picture quality even at the furthest reach of this figure. 

The products also have applications in digital signage.  Gefen is yet to announce pricing for the three new products.
