If there’s one interesting side-product of getting all the CES geeks together in a vast hall, it’s seeing just how much Zune squirting goes on. Gear Live have already experienced their first mutual-squirt, encountering a fellow Zuner at SeaTac Airport and swapping a few tracks to see just how easy this music-sharing malarkey really is.

The good news? It was indecently easy to use. The bad news? All the tracks were shackled with the maligned “3 day or 3 play” DRM, even those which weren’t purchased from the Zune Marketplace. It’s sad, in a way, that it takes a once-yearly exhibition for Zune owners to try out one of the most publicised aspects of their PMPs; perhaps Microsoft should make it “3 CES” DRM instead?

Can’t wait to try it on mine. Of course the problem with the wireless Zune thing is that few people leave theirs on, obviously to save battery life.
Neat none the less. I still like mine better than my iPod.

It’s even better that some artists are restricted from being shared!
I can’t wait until the day I actually find another person with a Zune, anxiously wait as I try to share a song, and then be shut down by the RIAA and DRM.
Well at least it’s rumored there may be increased WiFi usage in store for the Zune:
