Gateway have announced a new netbook, the LT2000, a 10.1-inch Intel Atom N270 based machine with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard-drive.  While the specs of the Gateway LT2000 may not be anything unusual, the company is hoping that the $299.99 sticker price will tempt in buyers.

There's also WiFi b/g, a webcam, multi-format memory card reader, three USB 2.0 ports and a VGA output, together with audio in/out and stereo speakers.  The netbook weighs 2.62lbs and measures in at 10.17 x 7.24 x 1.03 inches with its 3-cell Li-Ion battery, which Gateway tip for up to 3hrs of runtime.

Both black and cherry-red versions are available, each running Windows XP and priced at $299.99.  All well and good, but this is basically a reworking of Acer's Aspire One D250 (Acer own the Gateway brand), which the briefest of searches on Amazon shows is available in black, white or red for $295.99 with free shipping.
