Absolutely nothing new to see here, standard Sony practice for every device they've ever released. Why the big stink this time?

You buy the brand including all the official accessories when you buy Sony, that way you can be sure your parts will work together with no problem.

If you could use cheap (fake) PRO-DUO cards with it then you're introducing a point of failure that will come back to bite you in the arse halfway through a game someday.

So the cards are overpriced, as were the original magicgate, duo and pro-duo and M2. But they are good quality, as long as the quality is maintained it's all good. That and making money is the Sony way!

All games require a memory card. But for saving and a few apps, 4gb should be fine. 9.99 for 4gb is exspensive, but there wouldnt be an uproar like for 24.99.

"the price is too high" is what the gamers said so they went back and changed the price. after they change it people will still say the same thing. until it's completely free everyone is going to complain. there is no compromising with people

Er... for 4GB and 8GB $24.99 and $39.99 are still completely baseless and off the wall. it would be completely in context about 5 years ago, but memory has dropped in price everywhere (Except for Sony Cards it seems). a 4GB card is roughly $4.99 now and an 8GB is about $3 more at 7.99.

I understand they need to make a profit, but that can be done by NOT offering these tiny little 4/8gb cards and starting the 16GB at $29.99 and the 32GB at $49.99. It's still expensive, but only 2x as expensive, not the insane 5x as expensive as actual memory. I don't expect a "Official XXX 1st party" device to be cheap, but I do expect it to be somewhat realistic as far as pricing is concerned.

Even though the Xbox Harddrive is completely overpriced, for example, it at least comes with the little chassis for the Xbox that can later be upgraded to a larger capacity drive.

Bad enough this device is missing holiday season and is being released in a non-fan-fare time (March? What will it be a St.Patties day launch?) but to also make the memory a completely off-base price? This thing is just planning for a massive flop.
