GamestopTime to gear up and head out to your local GameStop or EB Games store if you want your very own Nintendo Wii console, as starting today, both stores will be accepting preorders for Nintendo’s latest game box. Given that Wiis are promising to be far more plentiful come launch day than Sony’s PS3s, this shouldn’t be a mad rush to get one of only 16 preorder slots; in fact, one could even argue that a preorder is a bit unnecessary. Still, they’ll be there tomorrow; for more details, hit the jump!

GameStop and EB Games stores will begin accepting limited pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii console on Friday, October 13, on a first come, first served basis. Due to extremely limited supplu, we expect to reach our limit very quickly, most likely in minutes. We will not accept additional pre-orders at that time. To avoid an unnecessary trip we strongly recommend you call your local store to determine availability. A $50 reservation deposit is required, which can be funded with cash, credit or trade. As we cannot control production and shipping issues by the manufacturer, a reservation deposit does not guarantee receipt of a system available to purchase at launch. Reservations/Purchases are limited to 1 per household.

So what’s the deal, are they trying to create fake demand? I got to the EB down the street from me at 5:30 am. They said the night before they would have twelve I was numbr twelve in line, they opened early said they only had ten. So I missed that. I booked it on over ot another one that my friend was waiting in,he was told they would have 36. I got there number 32 in line, they only had 16. 16?!! That was how many PS3 preorders they had. I thought nintendo was going to have tons more units at launch, where are the pre-orders. It’s fishy for sure.
