Hahaha, this is almost funny. I only spent $19.99 on getting this entire -GAME- just due to OFFERS that GameStop and Blizzard had.
Fist deal was about a month or two ago at GameStop, which gave you Wrath of the Lich King free if you bought the Battle Chest.
Second one, which is just plain AWESOME luck, is the fact that my account sub expired (I hadn't payed -any- monthly on it, this was just the initial 30 days it gives.) right before the Scroll of Ressurection came out. Which, if your account was unsubbed before the offer was introduced, you could get the Scroll from a friend and you would get 7 days free game time, a FREE level 80 that was moderatly geared (I got a mage with that, frost ftw.), free faction/server change, and most of all, a FREE Cataclysm expantion.
This is all ONTOP of me linking my account to another (Already active) one through Recruit a Friend. This means that I get a month free on BOTH accounts (2) months of -free- game time just for buying 1-2 months of game time on the other. And that my OTHER account gets -TWO- free mounts, one 2 seated, and one normal. I have pretty much just -OWNED- Blizzard for maybe... $200-300 bucks?
Yeah, out of pure luck and timing... Best of luck getting this kinda deal later on, be WATCHING for this... I really do hope there is another offer like this somewhere down the road for everyone even looking at buying this game... GL to all, this -boss- is out. Peace.

Horribly confused where this comment's logic is coming from. All content is defeated by World First guilds within 2 lockouts. However for the rest of the world, the content exists for 6 months or more because not everyone is running 6 days a week, 8 hours a day.

You could argue it's worth putting WoW aside, but until you've killed off H Madness yourself (or achieved whatever endgame goal you're interested in), why delete it until you're done?

I see this deal aimed at people looking for a few quick alts to boost before MoP and new users hoping to minimize their entry cost.

When we played in the beta I had a friend that predicted that the only thing that would be able to kill World of Warcraft was Blizzard themselves. In hindsight with the announcement of Mists of Pandaria it's borderline creepy how right he was.

This is all but ridiculous. Blizzard is bleeding massive numbers of subscribers to Star Wars: The Old Republic and they still think it's okay to charge /anything/ for vanilla and the expansions up to Cataclysm? They can't count on former players coming back so if they truly want to survive it should be $30 for a new player to be fully up-to-date. That should include a free month to play and possibly even a voucher for Mists of Pandaria for when it releases!

But they won't; they are as they've always made themselves out to be in the official forums: Completely disconnected from their player base.
