Remember just before Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out in the US? We received reports of Japanese gamers who had issues getting the game to play properly on their Wii. Well unfortunately we are hearing reports of similar issues with Mario Kart Wii.

What makes this different from the SSBB issues is that Mario Kart Wii does not actually utilize the same dual-layer discs. The game data is small enough that Nintendo needed only to use single-layer discs.

We don’t currently have any word from Nintendo on the matter, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully these are isolated issues that we won’t see here in the US.
