"And the pictures? All of them in landscape... EXCEPT THE FREAKING IPAD!! Christ."

Is this a real question? Every shred of evidence about the Samsungs point to their natural default and primary position as being in landscape mode.

1) The connection port is on the long side, rather than the width side like on iPad.
2) Samsungs logo and all it's text markings are labeled to be read in landscape position
3) The cameras sits at the "top"
4) As part of the design, the metal(?) material cuts out over the rest of the black back on the length side, on what appears to be the the "top"
5) The form factor (dimensions) of both Samsungs is widescreen or landscape (closer to 16:9), as opposed to the more traditional ipad closer to 4:3 aspect ratio
6) Pretty much every review of Android Honeycomb have mentioned that the OS itself is designed to be predominantly oriented in landscape position.
7) Not almost every video demonstrating Honeycomb show it operating in landscape.

These are subjective opinions stating one is better than the other. These are objective facts that point to a logical default and primary positioning of the device. I can't think of a single piece of evidence from a user perspective that would warrant more picture in portrait, mode, unless it was actually on showing a portrait with longer height than width, or showing a webpage, or maybe a word type document or book. But aside from offical demos, there werent any significant videos of this thing on, up and running

I just don't get why they ditched the 7 so quickly. Hasn't even been a year, but it HAS been 7 months and no update in sight.

If they really listened to what the customers wanted they'd have thought about an update--or at least releasing the 7 from its chains.

The pricing on the wifi versions though ... not bad. Not bad at all.
