Galaxy S7 Edge dunked in water for 16 hours, will it survive?

We all know that one of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are that they are both water resistant. We aren't just talking about splash resistant either, these phones can actually survive dunking in water for an entire hour according to Samsung. If they are rated for an hour, I am sure we aren't the only ones who have wondered if they will actually survive a dunking that lasts longer.

The geeks over at Unbox Therapy wondered if the S7 Edge would survive longer than an hour. They crammed the phone into a jar of water and left it over night on video. The phone was left in water from 7pm until noon the next day. When it came out of the jar of water, it was still working perfectly.

The S7 Edge spent a bit over 16 hours and 30 minutes in the water with no side effects at all. That is an impressive feat so if you ever end up in an overturned car underwater, breathing in an air bubble just large enough for your head, your S7 Edge will survive the dunking while you call for help and Snapchat the entire episode.

We liked the S7 and S7 Edge smartphones quite a bit. If you want to know more about the smartphones than the fact that they can be submerged for a long time, check out our reviews of both of these devices. You can peruse our Galaxy S7 Edge review and our Galaxy S7 review all you want. Now that we have seen an S7 Edge survive over 16 hours in water, I really want to know exactly how long it can survive. I'd like to see it back in the water until it fails.
