Galaxy S6, S6 edge pre-orders begin April 1 via Verizon

That Galaxy S6 sure is interesting, and it's sister device — the Galaxy S6 edge — is as well. All tha glass back and sloped screens complement some new software, and a really nicely improved fingerprint sensor. We've give n you our hands-on take of each, but so what, right? You wan to get one for yourself! If you're in the market for a new Samsung flagship device, we've got good news. The wait may soon be over, as pre-orders are tipped to start April 1.

This comes courtesy of Verizon, so we're going to safely assume its no April Fool's joke. The carrier typically doesn't announce something unless they're sure it's going to go down.

Unfortunately, we don't know when any other carrier might open the device up for actual pre-orders. T-Mobile is currently offering their 'pre-registration', but that just puts you on a list to know when it's coming.

As for AT&T or Sprint — no word yet. We'd like to assume the device will come available for pre-order around the same time, as Verizon didn't note any sort of exclusivity. We doubt Samsung would grant such a thing, either.

What Verizon didn't tell us about was pricing. We've seen indications the device will retail starting at $699, but that's not quite official. The carrier also didn't say when the device would actually be in your hand, but expect a week or longer once pre-orders begin.
