Galaxy S6 Edge+ 16MP camera sensor spied heading to India

Leaks about the coming Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphone keep on coming. Earlier this month some line art images of the smartphone came our way showing a device that looks like a cross between the Galaxy Note and S6 Edge smartphones. Samsung is said to be gearing up to launch the S6 Edge+ on August 13 and the devices are being distributed around the globe in preparation for that launch.

Recently the camera module for the smartphone was imported into India and turned up in the Zauba export tracker. The information captured shows that the smartphone will have a 16MP camera sensor. The sensor itself will measure 1/2.6", a spec it will share with the smaller Galaxy S6 devices already on the market.

Rumors keep coming about this smartphone with the device tipped in previous rumors to use the Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset, just as its S6 siblings do. Two major differences rumored for the S6 Edge+ so far are a move up to 4GB of RAM and a larger screen.

The screen is expected to be either a 5.5-inch or a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED unit with the curved edges of the S6 Edge. A few days back, some leaked images of the device showed it will be offered in a gold color. We only have a few weeks to wait for the launch, assuming the device launches on August 13.
