I’m a 4S user and Siri sucks, no way around that. And I guarantee that any Android equivalent will suck too.

Nobody wants their officemates to hear them adding toilet paper to their grocery list and if you’re in a noisy restaurant it won’t work. Imagine having a 3 year old as an assistant where you have to explain everything to them 5 times. That’s give you an idea of what these voice “assistants” are like. They can’t read your mind and never will.

This is one area where Samsung should NOT copy Apple.

I currently have a Windows Phone 7.5 (HTC Titan, AT&T), and a iPhone4s (Sprint). When it works Siri is pretty cool, there is no denying that. But, I stopped counting how many times I first tried Siri before I would put the 4s down, pick up my Titan say the same command and it “just worked”.

I hope the competition of voice commands keeps up both quality, and function between all three os!

As a closing note I did have a Galaxy II (Sprint) before my 4s, and while the voice recognition wasn’t any more accurate, it did seem to be a bit faster most of the time.

If by better build quality, meaning glass that shatters as soon as someone bumps into you by accident making you drop the phone? Yeah.. Nexus is last years technology, its actually refreshing to see samsung add so many features into its newest phone… Please don’t compare this phone to an iPhone which is just a 4×4 grid of apps and a notification bar snatched from android (which is the only new feature of iPhone since the first iPhone back in 2007)

No one gives a sh*t about checking the weather. Can we please talk about useful things it can do? Siri allows reminders to be GEO triggered (I set one “When I get on Thunderbird, remind me to get milk.”) That is what I care about. The next step is “When I get on Thunderbird, remind me to get me milk, but if it’s after 7pm, have me get take-out too.” I want to see solid ‘if/then’ logic. That’s when I’ll toss whatever I own and buy that.

How do you activate S Voice when not at the lockscreen? With Voice Actions you press and held the Search button to activate it, but of course that button is gone now.

Do you use the search button the Google searchbar from ICS? But that still doesn’t solve the problem of using S Voice at anytime within an app.
