You should march straight into Tim Cookies office and ask him.. after all he is claiming it is a direct copycat product so they should have all the info you’ll need. Only difference is theirs has a 1/2 eaten apple on the manual cover page. Let me know how that works out :-)

You know when you type a search into Google and get suggested results? It is EXACTLY that. I don’t know HOW Google hasn’t been sued but Samsung has, for implementing that on a phone, OR how Apple has it but Google hasn’t sued them. We are not often privy to private licensing agreements …

This is one of those “more to the story” situations.

I’m guessing you are ignoring the whole Amoled screen designs when you say they don’t create anything original. Not to mention that they supply multiple chips to Apple (some of them developed by samsung themselves) Let us not forget that big damn phone/tablet hybrid that is the Galaxy Note that no one else thought of.

apple has not “won” amonetary compensation for Samsung’s ruled willing infringement of Apple’s patents. Appeals will mitigate the money down to a neglible amount. what will benefit Apple is a lengthybappeals process with no short term settlement, keeping other Android handset manufactuurers cautious with any new product releases till things settle. Apple’s “win” keeps the Amdroid manufacturing community scared and spending more R&D on differentiated products instead of marching them out with abandon.

In my opinion Samsung has copied enough technologies from other companies not only Apple and now its time for them to pay the piper. Samsung has been nothing but copycats and its time they come up with something original and contribute to the mobile market.

I know that they say i phones. I gave up on Windows when Vista came around and bought a Macbook Pro. I now own an iMac and a Macbook Air. I had a 1st generation iPhone, a 3GS, and now the white iPhone 4. I have never been embarrassed or ashamed to be associated with the products of a specific company, until now. Matt Taibbi described Alan Greenspan as the “biggest asshole in the universe” and I think this could be legitimately applied to Apple (as a company, not necessarily the products). My next phone will be the Galaxy Note 2 as soon as it is available in the US.
