Touchwiz is terrible, but everything you mention below is in your head. Its certainly NOT faster starting up the phone, opening a browser, loading a page and/or swiping screens.

You are attempting to compare the very first 1gz snapdragon SOC to a dual core 1.2GHZ A9 monster. There is no comparison, its a much faster phone that is slightly bogged down by touchwiz.

If you were to compare the N1 to the first SGS w/touchwiz I would tend to agree, not so much with the SGS2..

I'm talking about real-world tests... like:
- Starting up the phone
- Opening a browser
- Loading a page
- Swiping screens
- Opening an app

Side-by-side, actual tests. If you're talking about benchmarks that have to do with browser javascript behavior or some nonsense, maybe you're right. But in side-by-side tests, N1 wins.

I understand why companys want to put their own skin on Andriod, just another way to differentiate i guess but i don't get why people would buy it. I know that some find vanilla Andriod boring and like the functions and look you can get with skins like touchwiz but you can add that sort of thing to your phones yourself. Even without rooting theres a ton of things you can do to a vanilla build of Andriod.
