December 11 is Verizon’s roll out date for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I live outside the Toledo area and usually go to a smaller town Wal-Mart. I went to their wireless store tonight and asked to purchase the Nexus, already knowing it wasn’t out yet, but hoping the worker wouldn’t know any better. After not being able to find one (duh) he preceded to look it up on his computer. He then told me December 11 is when Verizon is releasing the phone but that Wal-Mart probably wouldn’t get the phone for a couple of weeks later and that they would only get a few phones. I hope he’s right on the date!

That is the verizon galaxy nexus if u would notice the curvature is not as prononced as the internatinal version because it is thicker to houe the lte components and also a slighlty bigger battery

Ok I have watched video a few times. This is not the Verizon nexus. I have had every 4g phone Verizon has released to date. No Verizon 4g phones go pass home screen without initial setup or sim card. I’m playing with my Razr and I removed sim card and it comes up immediately sim card needs to be inserted same with my thunderbolt and bionic. Of course I will be selling my Razr and bionic this week to get nexus but this is not the true nexus.

No they dont the droid razr uses a standard size sim. Your looking at rumor sites about the possible micro ones that still are not used yet.

I was unaware of that, I still call fake though… did some digging, and it seems newer VZW devices use Micro-SIM for LTE devices, why the big one then? My point still stands about the VZW apps; if someone with the LTE version launches an app so I can see it running, I’ll believe they have the VZW phone!

I’ll say it again, video is a FAKE!!! I can’t believe NOBODY noticed the SIM card slot… this is supposed to be CDMA/LTE, which means NO SIM!!! The VZW apps are probably icons ripped from a current phone and dropped into placeholder apps (would only take a few minutes to do). Notice nobody so far who has claimed to have the LTE version will launch those apps to show they actually do anything? The back is easy to fake. This is the GSM version tweaked to build hype!

I think they’ve said plenty, and reviews have covered the camera pretty extensively. The shutter speed reportedly has zero lag time, panorama feature is built in, one-touch sharing, 1080p video recording, multiple photo editing features like red eye, crop, filters, face glow, etc.
Have you actually tried to look up info about it yet?

Guys, even the N1 has bloatware. Amazonapps and a few other things that you can not get rid of that are not on the Nexus S series. Just saying. Vanilla experience to me means no extra GUI shit. It is exactly how google intended the OS to be.

I apologize but i dont have a 4g phone so im unsure of the lte signal symbol but can someone verify that this is indeed the vz one? (look in the status bar please?) im not quickly trolled by a non lte nexus with a lte version back.. and top of device i think is a phone label that has the device number on and “confidential”. i dout they changed the phone speaker to look that badly. :/

Yeah, technically it isn’t a Nexus unless it’s pure Android with no carrier apps. But do those apps take away from performance? More importantly, can they be uninstalled w/o rooting?

Actually “Google Experience” just means that it has the Android Market on it. The word “Nexus” should be what signifies Vanilla – and yes, that’s been besmirched here.
