Galaxy C7 specs leak via AnTuTu benchmark

A few days ago, we mentioned that Samsung was working on a mid-range smartphone line that would carry the Galaxy C moniker and cram mid-range hardware into a metal body. Today some specifications of one of those Galaxy C devices has turned up via AnTuTu benchmarks giving us a glimpse at what is under the hood.

The specific device that has turned up in the benchmark is the Galaxy C7 SM-C7000. The benchmarks show that the smartphone has a Snapdragon 625 processor operating at 2 GHz with eight cores and an Adreno 506 GPU. The leakster tips the processor running at 2.0MHz, but that has to be a typo since we left MHz speeds for processors behinds many moons ago.

That chip is paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Screen resolution is tipped at 1080p, but it's unclear exactly what size the display is. The rear camera has 16MP resolution with the front camera sporting 8MP resolution. The OS for the device is Android 6.0.1 out of the box. The Galaxy C5 leaked earlier this week and was tipped to use a 1.56 GHz Qualcomm processor with eight cores, thought to be a Snapdragon 617 paired with 4GB of RAM.

It's nice to see mid-range devices being fitted with 4GB of RAM, typically they only get 2-3MB of RAM. The Galaxy C line of devices are expected to slot into the Galaxy line between the J and A models. The official unveiling of the Galaxy C line is expected to happen in China next month. Whether or not these smartphones come to countries other than China remains to be seen. We will be on the lookout for additional specs and details on the Galaxy C lineup of devices ahead of the official launch.
