Galaxy Alpha hits AT&T: metal "miniature"

This week the Samsung Galaxy Alpha hits AT&T in the United States, bringing a 4.7-inch display to the otherwise larger Galaxy S line. This device has many of the features that'd only otherwise be offered on the Samsung Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 4, here coming for a bit cheaper and in a slightly smaller package.

This device has a metal rim, a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, a heart rate sensor on its back, and a fingerprint scanner up front. This device also has AT&T 4G LTE, of course.

So what's so small about it? The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch display while this device has a 4.7-inch display. Positively last-gen, right? Have a peek at it in-store and see how well it fits your palm.

Inside you'll find 2GB of RAM, a microSD card slot for 128GB of storage expansion, and 32GB of internal storage. Up front you'll find a 2-megapixel camera while the back has a sizable 12-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom.

The Galaxy Alpha is being made available on a 2-year contract for $199.99 USD. You can also pick it up for $25.55 per month for 18 months with AT&T Next18. There's a Next12 deal for $30.65 per month for 12 months, or you can pick the device up for $612.99 outright – with no contract at all.
