Futurama: Game of Drones mobile game inbound

Wooga has announced in partnership with Fox Digital Entertainment that it is working on a Futurama mobile game called Futurama: Game of Drones. The title's tongue-in-cheek reference to a certain popular TV series may or may not suggest the direction the game will take. Says Wooga, the mobile game will be based on an original storyline by Dave Grossman, Patric M. Verrone, and Jonathon Myers, the latter of whom was involved with Game of Thrones: Ascent.

We haven't gotten a look at gameplay footage at this point, but Wooga did tease gamers with a poster featuring Bender front and center and a legion of drones behind him.

According to Wooga, the game will involve gamers playing as part of the Planet Express crew as they get swept up into a "desperately imbalanced trade war" with its biggest rival and series staple, MomCo.

The Planet Express team is trying to deliver some type of unspecified dangerous cargo to all sorts of hazardous places under what Wooga describes as "ill-advised circumstances." In the process, the gamers will need to connect together delivery drones to help solve puzzles. The game will include, among other things, "iconic" Futurama locations.

When the game will be released wasn't stated.
