Fujifilm whips out FinePix S2500HD digi cam with 18x optical zoom

One of the things that is better about some point and shoot cameras than many DSLR cameras is that the cheaper point and shoot cams often have longer zoom ranges than the DSLR. That is without having to spend lots of cash on a telephoto lens for the DSLR anyway. Many of the new point and shoots put huge zoom levels in the smaller point-and-shoot package.

The latest megazoom point and shoot from Fujifilm is called the S2500HD. The cam is a larger camera for the class and sports an 18x optical zoom. The lens in the camera is 28-504mm equivalent. The camera can be connected to a TV directly for viewing photos and video.

Video is recorded at 720p HD resolution. Other features include dual image stabilization, face detection, and red-eye removal and more. Pricing and an exact launch date for the camera are unannounced at this time.
