Fujifilm W3 3D camera gets official in UK

Fujifilm has gone official today with its latest 3D digital camera called the W3. The new W3 is smaller and lighter than the first 3D camera from Fuji. The new camera has a bigger and brighter screen than its predecessor, stereo sound recording, and it records 3D HD video.

That video has to be sent to a TV via HDMI 1.4 cable supporting g 3D. The camera uses a pair of lenses and two CCDs to shoot the 3D images and video. The images and video recorded can be viewed on the 3.5-inch screen of the camera without needing glasses.

The images and video can also be viewed on an optional 8-inch 3D digital viewer and photo frame. The images will also be printable for the first time in the UK using a new lenticular printing process in sizes up to 9" x 6". The camera will also shoot images in 2D mode and the camera can take two different images at the same time. That means one lens can take a close up photo and the other can shoot a wide-angle photo of the same scene at once. The camera will launch in early September for £399.
