Fruit Ninja overhauled with big update

If you prefer your time wasting to come in the form of digitally slashing fruit, Halfbrick's latest effort will be sweet, sweet music to your ears: a massive Fruit Ninja update. Calling it "the biggest update ever", Halfbrick has more or less overhauled the game with new features, design changes, and improvements.

With the update, which is available now from your respective app store, comes changes to the power behind your ninja skills. Essentially, gamers will now have new effects with dojos and blades that expand the kind of moves you can pull off — says Halfbrick, "experiment".

You'll find new bonus powers, "fresh surprises", and extra time to wield your sword. Joining this slew of new features are two new characters: Mari and Katsuro, building upon the foundation set by Truffles, Gutsu, and Sensei. Halfbrick promises more characters are inbound.

On a less bright note, some mobile gamers who have updated to the latest version are reporting less-than-stellar results. It seems the multiplayer option has been removed, and those using older devices might find the game to have a lot of lag after updating.
