If you have a thing for word games, then you can expand your vocabulary and help the hungry through Free Rice. For every word you get right, they will donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program.
So far 232,745,430 grains of rice and since the month began they have quickly donated more and more rice. They started on October 7th so all of that rice has just been over a few weeks time. The site is funded by their advertisers: Macy’s, Fujitsu, Timelife, Apple, Office Depot, Readers Digest, and several more.
The World Food Program works with over 1,000 other orginizations in 75 countries making it the largest food aid agency. Next time you’re dying of boredom or just feel the need to expand your vocabulary go check out the site and help feed the hungry.
