46 to 55 is the SWEET spot for TV's .. OMGawd, what a fanboy. I suppose you said the same thing about the iphone's 3.5 inch screen. How many people would buy a 70 inch screen TV, if they were selling for the same money as a 46 inch. Sweet spot my arse. Apple releases it and you think its the best size. Why do you think the masses are buying large screen phones. Large screens on anything is awesome. 50 inch is so last year. Although, thinking about it, it would suit Apple to bring out a screen this size while everyone else is making theirs larger.

I still don't see how this is a more attractive proposition than the current AppleTV set-top boxes. Most people keep TVs for a long time, far longer than they do computers. Can't see that many people justifying a replacement TV every 3 or 4 years just to have the latest OS or features. A $100 set-top box that connects to any TV, yes, but a $1K+ TV, I don't think so.

Fully integrated smart TV's make no sense in practical terms. Buy a good display and a separate box (Roku or Apple TV); it will be cheaper up front and an order of magnitude cheaper to upgrade when the box hardware goes out of date in a few years.
