Shawna Hampton, a small business owner from Kansas, knows she always needs to have a backup for her Skype Internet telephone service.

Hampton, who runs what is essentially a one-woman Web development company in Kansas City, said she was glad she had her cell phone handy when she was unable to make or receive calls from clients for 48 hours during last week's Skype outage. We use a P8 system for our Hosting & Design company, and it works fine and dandy. I know the price might be a little steep for some small companies starting up, but compared to a full blown Cisco system, it works perfect. Just make sure you stay atop of the firmwares and updates.

it's all about your network / service quality. If you're on dialup . dsl / cable, then you're in deep waters as a business. You need t-1 and above for quality business - class vOIP.

Yea, as well many telephone companies in your area should be able to hook you up with a good service for not a bad price. I know a few companies around here that don't offer to bad of SB phone plans.
