Okay.
18 20" LCD Monitors... 3 rows consisting of 6 monitors each in a semi-circular fashion :)
As well as, 18 PCs (one for each monitor... and I'd use Synergy to combine the input :) (all one mouse and keyboard?)
As well I would have 4 Quad Xeon 3.2Ghz (Clovertown) servers with 2TB drives in each. I'd store all my movies on them.... as well share a login between all 18 PCs. And yes, they would run windows :) Sorry Ewdison. Can't beat LDAP login share (no I don't like novell)

Hey, that would be very cool. Don't forget the 1000Mbps connection? Imagine how fast you could download at...
That setup sounds really awesome. I'd estimate a price breakdown of:
18x $400 Monitors = $7200
18x $1200 PCs = $21600
4x $4500 Servers = $18000
TOTAL PRICE: $46800
Yes, it's quite expensive. Now my head hurts :( All that multiplication.

Yea, very expensive. Plus the LED lights and such to make it look fancier and keyboards and everything to make it look fancy you would have to add a couple more 1000 to cover various other costs.

The costs of the bills to run the whole place and then the other various costs if you want to have storage for it all and a new desk and all the lcd lights to make it look fancy. Basically it would depend on how *out* you are willing to go but I"m sure the bill is going to be quite big.

Once i read it at Popular Science about house of the future. The concept (it actually exist) is really great both from architectural design as well as all the tech they implemented.
I am not sure the article is still there.
But for sure, it has no 18 monitors, 18 pcs, 4 servers.. and stuff like that. Bottom line, the house is really can assist with our daily life, even improve our lifestyle and bad habits...
