Yea, they need to get an actual customer who has stuff to say about how bad some of their features and stuff are. If I was on the management team of some of these companies that I complain about there would be some big changes in their daily routines and how they handle things.

i highly doubt there is too much time spent in actual dev time, most of the development cycle is probably spent in QA or quality assurance.

basically making sure there are no major bugs and everything works alright.

Yea, which usually still bugs fall out. But yea I do understand, I would like to participate in some of Microsofts Beta programs but it seems like I'm going against the 50,000 other people that want to too.

really you just have to read lots of tech blogs like our own, often they post when the betas are open to the public and you can sign up then.

other than that, microsoft does a great job supporting local user groups (not local as in local to me, but local as in they probably have one near you) and often times they will do events or pass out x number of beta invites or free beta software.

other than that, one other thing you can do is constantly check the beta page on the microsoft website.

much past that your only hope is buying an MSDNA membership or a TechNet subscription, unless you are interested in programming, i would recommend the TechNet Subscription, initially they send you a binder with lots of discs in it that are useful tools and usually evaluation and/or full copies of there staple software (office, OS, and Server whatever the current version may be) and then they send out more betas, tools, and eval software every so often

that i am pretty sure, guarantees your entrance into all the betas
