After a long time of waiting for what was made out to be the best spider-man video game yet, i gotta say i am a little bit disappointed after playing the pc version for about 30 - 40 mins. Dont get me wrong though, i say this not because the game is bad in gameplay and such, but mainly because of the performance, firstly let me say i have a pretty decent machine, it handles games which requires more than what spider-man 3 needs, so why the terrible FPS ? bad game coding maybe, (just a guess). Hopefully i am not the only one suffering from this. Anyways, maybe some of you fellow PC gamers out there could give us some info about patches and such since this game has great potential !

Hey, I totally agree with you. I was at my buddies house playing this game, and I mean, the graphics were okay and what not. But the FPS was total lag! I was wondering what was going on. I'm not really a technical person so I couldn't suggest anything you could do to make it better. I thought maybe he just had a downright terrible PC. But from what donald is saying, it could be more? I'm wondering what it truly is.

He has a pentium d 3.2Ghz 4MB cache, ATI Radeon 9550 AGP, 2GB RAM.

Is that good?

Thanks.

It's a good processor, and 2GB of RAM should be sufficient, however, that Radeon 9550 is definitely going to be your issue. That card is fairly outdated, and if I recall, wasn't one of the higher-end cards of its day. With AGP you're going to be limited. However, you might consider picking up an X1650 pro for around $120. If you don't want to spend that much, a Radeon X1550 is still pretty good for around $80.

You should see a significant increase in performance. With a good chip and plenty of RAM, you should have a good machine with just that one upgrade.

That's true. The radeon 9550 is YEARS OLD! There are many better graphics cards you can get for a very low price. I just built a pc for my friend, I went over to the local tigerdirect and picked up some nvidia 256MB HD card for $199. I don't know what model it was, I will find out and post here.

Hey thanks a lot, where do you recommend I purchase it? Is that a MSRP or is that from some secret provider!
