It's an interesting concept, and I'm not surprised that businesses are forming around it. I use this concept myself. I've enabled remote desktop on my pcs at home, so no matter where I am, I can login to my pcs.

Yea, it is a very good concept plus I like not it being my remote desktop so I can do more with it.

I'm selling remote XP desktops for $25 per month, and it includes the full Office Suite, and much more. It's a full Windows XP desktop and you can run any software that you would like. It has an internet connection, and you can browse the internet through it. Also, you'll get a free e-mail address and account and it will be setup for you on the desktop. If anyone is interested, just let me know.

Through your desktop you could add new users, but only one of you can be logged in at a time. These are Windows XP desktops.

Even if it was Windows Server 2003, you wouldn't be able to add users freely, you would have to have CALs. Which is Client Access Licenses. This cost $79 each, plus the server 2003 license. I doubt anyone would give full access to the server to create users. This could cause issues.

Now, if you wanted a linux desktop, I could do that, and I could do that cheaper. The linux could have unlimited users and all.

Windows is much harder to be flexible with considering the licensing and all of that stuff.

Another thing you could do too, is run VMware off of the windows desktop and you could install another copy of windows XP and allow someone to access it, but you would have to install the windows for that one. I could help you with this if you would like. Are you looking for a reseller type of deal?

No, just for family use.

And I don't own the full version of XP so that wouldn't work either but yea.

Ahh ok. Then you could create different users, but only one could be on at a time, so that would probably work out for you. Would you be interested in this?
