I found a new company that allows you to rent server space which has XP installed on it and Office for a certain price per month. Kind of neat deal just because you can upload programs you use daily or stuff that usually uses alot of CPU and be able to run it and not be able to take up your CPU. I thought it was quite interesting and kind-of neat. I always thought it would be cool to own an account like one of these. I lost the site but most def will let you know it once I find it.

Can you give a link?
So it's like a dedicated server running your software, streaming it to your home? If so there are a lot of down falls. One it'll take up a lot of bandwithd. secondly it will still use your cpu no matter what. So it's like throwing money out the window.

I'm still finding the link I was running to many YouTube things in Firefox while having like 50 tabs open so Firefox froze up and crashed. But I'll let you know when I find the link but basically how it works is that you a pay a monthly fee then you get access to the server (if you have ever used Microsoft Server 2003 where you have to login to the computer before being able to actually get to your work files and everything.
Well that is how it is you login using the link they provide you and then it brings up your XP desktop whether you decide to sync with the PC you use or just to use it as a clean desktop you choose. There are alot of programs that come pre-installed like Office, Firefox, IE, Windows Movie Player, etc. But you can choose in the end what you really want to keep and go. They are also wanting new ideas of what to offer like Photoshop and stuff is in the works.
Its kind-of cool since it has just started they will probably be opening up for VPS and Dedis but now it is kind-of starting low and is more like a shared hosting account.

its not like throwing money out the window, as chances are, if you were to buy into something like this, you wouldnt use it at home except to install new software on teh server or upload something, the rest of the time, you would use it so you could access a desktop you can actually use how you want to at school, work, maybe a friends house or internet cafe, you would be able to access a familiar desktop just about anywhere, and you wouldnt be using too many system resources on your local machine, i assume it would work a lot like a remote desktop session where everything you do, is done on the servers system resources, the only system resources used on your local machine are those required to display what you are doing on the server

Yea plus one big plus is that you can do stuff that the computer is not able to do like run software that is not installed on the local computer you are using. So if you are say wanting to get on your POP3 and find an email but it wasn't on web-mail or something then it would be local and all.
This service also offered like Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc. At an additional charge each month so it was like renting the software which is somewhat nice if like say you didn't want to pay for the full costs or whatever. Of course in the end you would be paying off a couple of the software but hey there are quite a few paid pieces of software on there that equals to a couple hundred dollars so it would take a while to buy all those if you thought it equaled out to be about the same.

Yea, it is in the works...
They partner with the companies or something I don't know how they even got Microsoft to allow them to do it. But I guess... haha
I didn't think Microsoft allowed you to sell their product in retail without permission from them but I guess they got the permission.

They are packed with beta testers I signed up a few weeks ago and haven't got a response. I've had people that signed up months ago and no response.
