Read any? I have a copy of The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security by Mitnick, still waiting to read the newest. I have been slacking on books lately, maybe I need some new glasses. Yes, a geek girl that reads and wears glasses, and no I'm not a nerd - those are completely different. And if you don't know the difference, either learn real quick or just don't mix up the terms and we will be all good. What books have you or are you reading now regarding hacking/computers/security/etc?

Actually I haven't, I usually don't look-up much about hacking and actually never have. I've heard people at school saying they would like to hack the schools system but I don't know if you would want to do that seeing you could get kicked out of lots of schools for doing that and most won't accept you.

I know most in the state would automatically decline you and probably most nationally probably wouldn't.

I have been a geek so long, it would be hard to not pick up a book about security, its just another thing to make all of us a little more knowledgeable in all the fun the internet has to offer.

Hi,

I wouldn't recommend a book on security, as it can get outdated very quickly. All the information you could ever need is available from Google searches ;)

Best wishes

RavenServers is correct, security methods almost change everyday. By the time a book is written and published, people would have already fixed the security or changed the method by which they actually secure things.

I don't read many books about computers, security, or hacking. I can imagine how these books would get outdated pretty soon after they are published though. Some might even be old by the time they actually the shelves, right?

Yea, probably true. Plus think how many people read these to fix the problems so they don't happen again...
