I've switched over to mostly all Intel chips, and I haven't really seen a reason to look back. My Core 2 Duo system absolutely flies. Puts my old X2 3800 to shame. I'll be buying Intel chips until I see a good reason to switch.

Quad 6600 is now only 280 bucks! I'm thinking o getting one but i just got a new macbook pro

stick it in your MBP! and then promptly rid yourself of a stove and just put a bracket for turning your macbook upside down

i have a pc with an x2 5200+, which is an AMD processor, and it was the best PC i could get for the money at the time, so its not that AMD makes bad processors, just that their competitor makes better

one thing to note though, is that when i bought my desktop, the core 2 duos were out too, but the only ones that were in the same price range were the E6300's which the X2 5200+ just barely outperformed, so i went with it.

oh, and i saw a dell PC for sale that has a quad core processor in it, along with a bunch of other goodies for like $400, frickin amazing
