Their Phenom processor looks great, but it's going to be a high-end line to take over for the FX. We really need something in the mid-range to compete with the E6600 or even the E6300 with its overclockability.

I'm guessing pretty high ($1000+) just like most processors are when they come out (For the highest model of course!)

I mean, I think it will be higher. It should be for what it is! (Quad core!) And the highest one will probably have at least 8MB L2 cache... I can smell a very high price tag. $1500+ (if there is a server edition)

Running WinXP Pro on a 15" CRT with an Antec 2.1 speaker system

i added a 55GB IDE HDD for media and my 250GB external is almost always connected, I have Vista for it, and installed it once, but i hate it with a passion.

Self Built Desktop
P4 2.6Ghz
1GB ram
250GB Sata HDD
integrated audio and sound
15" CRT
DVDRW

i built it for my parents, it runs WinXP Pro

and lastly my Gateway 7305GZ laptop
15.4" screen
512mb RAM
3.2Ghz P4 Desktop processor
100GB IDE HDD
broken dvdrw
integrated wifi a/b/g
integrated card reader
ATI Radeon 9600 w/ 64mb VRAM

thing gets hotter than the devils *******

really, you get that much heat?

If we want to get into what I got here...

I got 5 pcs that actually work and I use... heat stays cool.

Quad Xeon Server - (loud, but cool)
4xXeon 750Mhz 4x1MB cache
8GB (16x512MB) ECC RAM
2x36GB Scsi

2 Dell Dimension 3000 Desktop PCs
80GB HDD
CeleronD Processors (one is a server, one is used for development with PHP)

Custom Built AMD Athlon 3000+ with 80GB hdd.

I also have my laptop.

HP Pavilion dv6000
1GB RAM
80GB HDD

(whats with the 80GB hdds?)

oh and 4 routers :P

Yeah, things can be noisy sometimes.
