heh, i had an ipod for a little less than a year and sold it to buy an ipod

biggest mistake ever in my opinion

first, next to no one has one, and the few people that do have come to the same conclusion as me, the slight chance that someone else might have one with the wifi on, is not worth the considerable loss in battery lost to the wifi being on.

second the fm radio reception sucks, so that feature is nearly useless since you cant record the radio with your zune

i have a large and varying music library, holding the button down for a half hour is getting old quick

the software is garbage, not only does it single handedly eat up all of the resources for my very nice new machine, but library management and control over what music actually winds up on your zune are both abysmal.

the amount of effort required for adding a song to the quick list as compared to the same feature on the ipod is ridiculous

software updates have done next to nothing to fix any of these problems, they helped improve battery life with the wifi on, but for the other reasons its still useless

the accessories are considerably over priced and functionally retarded, i really do think they need to open up the market for accessories, keeping that precious dock port proprietary is crap, or if thats not the problem, if the problem is that the manufacturers just arent making anything for it then fine, the market still sucks compared to the ipod where you can get a generic everything for like $5, paying $80 +taxes for a car charger and crappy fm transmitter that doesn't take care of some sort of bodily function for me is just dumb

now for the pluses...
the screen is nearly impossible to scratch

the screen is bigger and the automatic widescreen orientation of the videos is kind of cool (though i dont have any videos on it, i played with the sample ones that came with it)

the interface is better looking, functionally its garbage and i'd take the plane white and black any day from apple

so, to finish things off, if anyone has a good, working, 5 or 5.5 gen 30gb or more ipod, i will trade you my zune for it any day
