Who's been to any lately? I have yet to make it to Defcon, and at this point - I have no real interest to visit. Maybe just go visit my girl in Vegas and chill with her, and avoid the kiddie scene. I would go to HOPE, but I am fairly certain next years will be the last and right now, I'm not sure if I want to take a year old child to HOPE - or get a babysitter, if possible (depending when the date is of course). Not really interested in many of the others, but then again back to my girl in Vegas, I would go to Black Hat with her, and I'm sure we would tear it up. You?

I just went to GenCon back in August, that's my second year there. I'm hoping to be able to go to some different ones in the future.

I cannot remember what all the cons are for? Are they where they release the latest games? I remember something about them but cannot remember what it was.

GenCon was formerly a non-electronic gaming convention, they recently added some electronic gaming stuff to the show though

DefCon is a huge hacker conference. HOPE is along the same lines, but slightly less aggressive, more collaborative and i dont think its limited to software hacks and social engineering, i think HOPE covers everything within the hacking community.

Black Hat is obviously a hacker conference, i think this is also the one where its not so much a conference but more of a Hacker Olympics if you will as the conference is based around a series of hacking competitions, if i remember correctly

i sadly have not been to any yet, but once i graduate, i plan on doing my best to make it to far more of them.

And btw, that is only b/c a ton of script kiddies turned DC into the POS it now currently runs as - sorry but all IMHO.
