A sanyo xacti is a hybrid camcorder, but missing other multi functions, a true Hybrid would consist of a camcorder/ camera/ mp3/ webcam/ voice recorder/ all in one
Take a step back and do not compare these to Professional models. Just accept them as they are.
it is a camcorder, smaller and tapeless. with a different design. getting away from a camcorders hand held design. More camcorders are called this today Hybrids.

The 720p h264 avc codecs.movmp4 format is awesome. lower end pc's find it hard to play. some cannot edit find it hard to film. the list goes on and on.
If you are interested in this model and care to read up just search around view the vids they will slowely find its way around
Complainers complain, and never settle for less, they think these are toys, andwant more out of that low price, just be happy
