Sorry but this is a false statement, China in truth is the only country harvesting its rare earth metals(97 % of world supply). They can be found all over the world.
China only wants to do what America has done with her oil, keep it in the ground and buy from other countries. Once true depletion occurs and everyone else runs out they will storm the market at a ridiculous profit margin.
