Folks at Wilmington, NC, first to experience DTV Switchover

You heard it on TV, read it here and local electronic chain stores. Yes, the national DTV transition will be on February 17, 2009. But the folks at Wilmington have early tickets for the switch-over. Starting today at noon, the residents at Wilmington will be the first in the country to experience the digital only broadcast; analog is history.

Household with cable or satellite TV services and will be unaffected but small percentage of residents will be served as the guinea pigs for the switch. With recent survey of roughly 6 out of 40 millions OTA analogue users may be affected by this change, it will be interesting to see the outcome from project Wilmington.
