Flip Video Ultra HD camcorder sold early, unboxed

There may be no sign of the Flip Video Ultra HD on the company’s own site, but that hasn’t stopped Best Buy from selling the point-and-shoot camcorder.  A high-definition update to the original Ultra, the Ultra HD adds an HDMI output and doubles recording time to 120 minutes.

There’s also a new removable, rechargeable battery that can be swapped out for a couple of AA batteries while on the go.  Flip Video’s usual spring-loaded USB plug is present, and the Ultra HD has the same straightforward controls as its predecessor.

We’ll have to wait for Flip Video themselves to catch up with their premature retailers before the full spec-list is known, but the Ultra HD is looking pretty slick.  If you can find it in your nearest Best Buy, expect to pay $199.99.
